Hi
I just purchased a ruger .22 comp. slab side and would like to put a red dot scope on it, are the Tasco accu dots, or maybe the propoint there selling on E-bay for around 50.00 bucks be the way to go ??
I would like to join a local comp. group that shoots 25yd. targets. Thank You Steve

This doesn't seem to be working, did I post it in the wrong forum? or is there no red dot shooters out there?

Thanks for any help.

Steve

if you're going to shoot the gun at precision targets, be sure you get a scope with a small M.O.A. you want a sharp, tiny dot. If you're just looking to blaze away at large targets at 25 yds, any dot will do.
Keep in mind those BSA dots are actually very good for 22 guns, they have a big dot, and are about 35 bucks NEW from Zanders sporting goods, but you need to have a dealer order them for you. Those scopes dont hold up well under the abuse of centerfire handguns though.

Depends what you're shooting at. My personal belief, get the sharp small dot, spend the money, you can always stick it on a new gun later if you buy a higher target grade gun.

My Tasco red dot works great on my AR-15. I think I have the PSP4 and I know I paid $50 at a gunshow. I see them all the time for $69. The sight in was a little tricky, but after that, it works like a charm. I am much more consistent with it, as compared to iron sights. I think it would work well for your application. I agree that you would want a small dot model.
