Red Dot scope

I bought a red dot scope (battery powered) for my S&W 22a an the red dot seems to move around in the scope when you move your head any amount. Is this normal, and how do you ever hit the same place twice if the dot moves with your head moving. Or am I missing something here?

Yes it is normal. The dot is projected so it will have the same relationship to the bore no matter where it seems to be in/on the glass. This major point of a red dot type sight is not needing to have the eye centered as youy would with iron sights.

The trick is to look through the sight to the target, instead of at the sight.

Well, I'll be dang. At 62 I still learn something every day. Guess I better call the the little woman at work an have her bring it back. It came from wally world, a center point red dot pistol scope. Thank Ya.
