red dot or scope for ruger charger

Hi all i just purchased a ruge charger and was wondering which is better a red dot or a scope for it. i want to under 50 bucks and was wondering which is a better choice which brand or model to get and why? Thanks for your help
 
Scope, of course

This gun will be accurate out to 100 yds. Your eyes just don't have the resolution to shoot accurately with iron sights or red dots at that range. You need a little help in the form of optics.
 
For under $50 you best bet is going to be some kind of

cheap chinese pistol scope... I like 3 or 4 power myself.
 
Will have to go with Smaug on this one and for the same reasons. Even though the Charger is a pistol, you can squeeze a lot more out of it than you think. As pistols go, the charger is not a good one. I chose to put a 1.5 to 5 power rifle scope on mine and with the addition of a target hammer, it's one heck of a shooter and a whole bunch of fun to boot. I'm always playing out at 100YDS. with no effort. That is from a bench !!;)

I took the red dot off my Charger and put a scope on it.
The red dot went on my Buckmark, which I think is a better place for it... ;)
 
My charger is just for funzies, so mine wears a red dot at this time. I've only had it a few months, and I'm very impressed.

I'm impressed enough to consider putting a real scope on it when I decide to stretch out.
