red dot of G20-10mm

I am pondering mounting a compact red dot on my G20 for hunting. I would like to use the factory dovetail and a commercial base. I would rather not mill the slide, though I read many claim that is the "best" and only way. My pistol does not have a dust cover rail.

Nevertheless, to get a taste of the setup, I'd like to use the dovetail. I read that the Burris Base, may or may not work on the G20 with a Fastfire. Some sources say the Burris Base is universal, others not.

There is another base source "Schmidt" I think, that could be another option.

Would like to hear from anybody who has mounted a red dot on a G20 witht eh factory dovetail.

You will need the fast fire glock base. It has a section that screws into the standard dovetail that glock mills out of the slide and then a pressure screw to prevent rise/flip. It will run about $45 in addition to the fast fire optic.

burris adapter

Read both links. The "Strike" plate may well be what I was trying to recall and named "schmidt"....I do such things more and more often.

The burris plate....still up in the air, some say it works, others, that it will not on the G20.

Anybody else?

one of my range buds has a G34 with a fastfireII on it using the burris mount
it all fits fine and stays solid (if you use loctite)
but i find it unnatural for me to shoot, as it raises the sight line up so high
i feel like i am pointing the gun down hill
it works great
i just dont like it
if it was milled in would be mighty fine
