Recycle Shotshell Brass?

Just wondering if it is possible to recycle shotshell brass, assuming one has the time/patience to cut off the plastic hulls. Has anyone tried it and is it accepted by brass recyclers? Seems like a money making idea for the grand kids.

Many times the mfgr's are using a plated steel stamping and not brass. Depends on who made the shells. I would think recycling the plastic hull is better than the brass/steel head/stamping. The only reason its there is for the extractor to have a rim to grip.

Only the top tier target loads use brass heads any more. Most of the others a steel, or brass-washed steel. Then you would have to get into the head to get the plastic that is part of the hull out of there.

Easiest is to give them to someone who reloads, or if they are the cheap trash hulls, throw them away

Our club HAS used old wads as filler on a dirt road in lieu of gravel - seemed to do OK once they were run over a few times
