I have a chinese sks that I'd like to cut the barrel on behind the bayo lug. I'm trying to find a recrowning tool to use after I do this. I'm putting a scope on it so I'm not going to put the front sight back on just cut and recrown. where would be a good place to get a tool for this?

bbl crowning

For a simple crowning tool, you might want to consider an old fashioned crowning ball. These will fit in your Dremel and should be used as a lapping tool with grit and oil and are made of brass. Or, if you can't find one, a round ball mounted stone. The ball should be twice the size of the bore as you don't want to round off the edges of the lands, that is you don't want to taper the lands. Finish off by hand, actually finger, working abrasive cloth into the new crown.
