Recreation tax at the shooting range?

Does anyone pay a state tax when they go to the range? The Wyoming House passed a measure to implement a 6% tax on shooting ranges. This bill isn't specifically aimed at shooters. Also to be taxed would be ski lift tickets, pool halls, skating rinks, and golf, bowling, and health clubs. I'm sad and in a state of shock that Wyoming would tax the Second Amendment, however, it's already being done in the way of paying a fee for a CCW permit. I refuse to pay the later tax, but there would be no way around the range tax, unless I refuse to shoot. This measure next goes to the Wyoming Senate for consideration. So, does anyone presently pay this kind of tax to be able to shoot?

In SE Wisconsin, there is an additional .25% tax on candy bars and fast food. Now there's a tax that really hits me where I live.:(

"Recreation taxes" aren't uncommon. They're usually billed as a way to make out of state people who use the ski slopes, rent hotel rooms, etc. pay taxes in the state they visit.

Sometimes there are ways around the taxes. Wisconsin's rental car tax can be avoided if you tell the agency that you are renting the car because your car is in the shop.

If the tax bill is still in the legislature, get everyone you know and shoot with to write and call their senators, ASAP.
