Recreating a Kimber Eclipse

What needs to be done to 'recreate' a Kimber Eclipse?

1. Grip checkering
2. Fancy finish (I forgot what the process was...brushing something or another??)
3. Black/gray grips

What else?

Why recreate the Eclipse? Just apply the finish to the slide of your stainless USPc 45. Now that would be cool.

I was talking about the same thing to my local pistolsmith today. All you really need to do is first apply a polymer finish to a stainless pistol (after having masked the flats), then brush-polish the flats to create a crisp edge between the bare and finished surfaces.

Hi DSK (or someone) could you please elaborate on 'polymer finish', 'masking the flats' and 'brush polishing'? Thanks! Would it work on a 'rounder' gun like a Beretta, or a polyframed pistol like a Grock or HK, and does it have to be a stainless gun, or will it work on an SA Milspec?

Why don't you just get one?
Here is a pic of mine, it is a great piece!

It has to have a stainless slide because you're essentially removing the finish from the flats.

For a milspec 1911, you could polish the flats and then reblue.
