Reconfiguring "post ban" firearms?

ok..been out of the loop for a while..with the sunsetting of the so called "assault weapons ban" can I legally reconfigure by post ban weapon into a "pre ban" setup?

...assuming your state does not have it's own prohibitions. For example, in NY, the federal AWB is mirrored in the state code, only they neglected to include the sunset provision...

Depends on the weapon, since all bans didn't end. US made weapons can be changed, foreign made cannot.

Thanks guys. My confusion came from the Bushmaster website. It says "preban configuration legal only on a preban lower". So then, this statement is incorrect and/or outdated?

Outdated as a national warning. Still has some validity in certain states.
