Recommended 1-1/2" gunbelt for CCW?

Need recommendations on a good 1-1/2" gunbelt. Will be supporting a J-frame or maybe Glock 19 IWB at the heaviest.

Sofar have looked at some good looking belts from gunners alley, Galco, and Aker leather. Mitch Rosen & Kramer are more than I want to spend at $125+.

Any other good belt suggestions?

It's a Liger

Have you considered a Liger belt? http://www.ligerproducts.com/product/catalog_ligerbelt_150.htm

I just got mine almost a week ago and have worn it every day. I don't carry every day, but there is no doubt this belt is built for carry. It is incredibly sturdy. I have been strapping on my USPf in a G-Code kydex holster and I am impressed. There is no sag and it does not pull away at all. There is no way you will have to re-adjust your holster throughout the day with this belt. Once the holster is in place...its in place! I waffled a bit on the decision to purchase this belt mostly because I'm not crazy about how the buckle looks.

This guy has done pretty thorough reviews on this belt and loves them:

Ya sure don't need a dedicated and expensive gun belt for a J-frame - they're so small and light. I'd bet just about any 1.5" leather belt would be more than adequate.

I have a beautiful, heavy duty Rafter-S 'Black Elephant' gun belt, but I never use it for the J-frame - I'd bet the belt weighs almost as much as the gun. Instead I use my normal every-day belt - a decent 1.5" leather belt from the Harley dealer just down the road - excellent quality for about $35.

Gong to wear it with a suit or jeans or? I'd say GunnersAlley/Beltman generally

Gong to wear it with a suit or jeans or? I'd say GunnersAlley/Beltman generally. Wilderness Instructor and variations for casual cheap and Alessi/Milt Sparks with a stepdown to 1-1/4 for wear with a good wool suit and so it goes.

Good info guys!

Gong to wear it with a suit or jeans or?

Jeans and shorts in warm weather, which we have LOTS of here. I don't have occasion to wear suits so I don't need a dress belt. :)

Sometimes the J-frame rides in a Kramer pocket holster, but I like the accessibility of it being on the belt. Beltman & Gunners Alley look very similar, and both seem to be a great value in a leather belt. Gunners Alley is backordered to about 3 weeks right now, but Beltman may have it in stock.

Choochboost - The Liger looks different, but I think it's fine with casual attire, and the price is right. It looks well made. I'll read the link to the review you posted, thanks.

The nylon Wilderness Instructor belt would probably do the job very well, and it's very adjustable. Just don't know if I could get used to the nylon belt look.

I appreciate all the suggestions guys.

I use a money belt. Being double thickness leather, it is plenty stiff enough for a gunbelt. If you need it stiffer, fill it with ten $100 bills (or, $1 bills :D )

Beltman it is...

As a maker, Id recommend the Beltman.........nuff said?

Just thought I'd update - Ordered a Belt from Jim last week, great guy to deal with. Lead time is about a month right now but I've heard nothing but good about his work. :)

You will be pleased!

You can't go wrong by working with Jim. Nice guy, great product, reasonable price. I have, I think, 5 of his belts. Also have a Rafter and a K & D which are also high quality belts. For a heavy gun the Rafter is probably the best as it is definitely the thickest and stiffest of the ones I have. If it is not too late I suggest you get the 7 hole option as it allows you much better "fit".

Hope this helps.
John
