Recommendations for .308 Garand barrel?

Hi Everybody,

I built a .308 Garand using a Fulton Armory mil-spec barrel, $175 (I believe they use Doulglas, is that right?). I'd like to build another .308 M1, can anyone make recommendations about barrel choice on this one?

I've had good luck with the FA barrel, but what about these Wilson barrels that Brownells has (also $175)? Are there many others to consider? What about match-grade barrels? How much better are they?

Larry, Midway (1-800-243-3220) has the Wilson barrels for $159.99 including delivery to your door. As far as a match barrel being worth it it depends on what you want to do with it. If it's for competition go for the match barrel. If it's going to just be a fun shooter with a few matches now and then I would go with a mil-spec barrel and spend the savings on ammo.
