So I just called up Dillon and tried to order a 300 blackout 1050.
The guy on the phone was very honest, which is one of the reasons why I love Dillon products and I only ever reload on Dillon. He said to not order the 300 blackout in 1050. First, the 1050 isn't available in 300 BLK, so I would have to order a 1050 in 223 and then get the dies and conversion kit for 300 BLK. The problem with that idea is that people are reporting problems with running the automatic case feeder with 300 BLK. He said to wait because they're talking about designing a shell plate for the 300 BLK.
He has no idea when the talk will become a reality.
Darn. My dream of the day has been dashed.
Does anyone reload 300 BLK on a high volume progressive?
What press do you recommend? I need room for a powder check die and a bullet drop die, so I need at least six stations (decapper/sizer, primer, powder drop, powder check, bullet dropper, seating/crimping).
This might be my first ever nonDillon press. It might look like a stepchild in a room awash in baby blue.
On a side note, I wish they'd make a press with 8 stations, so I could separate the seating and crimping stages. It'd be very helpful in pistol cartridges.
