Recommend Me Some THIN CZ75 Grips

I own a Tanfoglio TA90, which is a very close clone of the CZ75 with decocker. The TA90 takes the same grips as the CZ75 -- that much I know. My problem is this -- while I really like the shape of the hand grip of the TA90, the stock rubber grips add about 1/2" to the hand grip's width, which puts it on the ragged outside edge of comfort for me. Each grip piece is about 1/4" thick. It would be great if I could find some that are maybe 1/8" thick. Even a reduction of 1/4" in the width would help a lot, I think.

So, got any recommendations? As for grip material, I'm flexible. Plastic, wood, rubber -- it won't matter all that much. Thickness is most important to me.

I'm a big fan of VZ grips. A number of texture patterns as well for what you like best.

CZ Custom makes some great aluminum thin grips.

I have been buying grips from Cool Hand, which I found doing a Google search. They seem to be sold only through Amazon and I have put them on 2 CZ-75 compacts and a RAMI. That tells you that I like them.

VZ does not bevel the top edge of its CZ grips. It's pretty sharp, and can be uncomfortable depending on how one grips with the supporting thumb.

I prefer the Cool Hands grips, because the edges are hand-beveled. Also, Cool Hands makes many different types, including the Shadow type, which is absolutely the thinnest CZ grips in G10. I like the snake scale and the frag grenade patterns.

Strangely, VZ makes a palmswell version for the full size and does not for the compact while Cool Hands makes a palmswell version for the compact and does not for the full size.

I'm a huge advocate of the VZ grips and I haven't had any discomfort with using them. They are thinner than the stock grips, and after putting them on I would say then grip comfort went up quite considerably. It's the only time I've changed grips on a pistol that actually made a difference in the way the gun feels and handles.

If I ever buy another CZ, I'll probably preorder VZ grips before even buying the gun...

No love for the thin aluminum grips? I have the older version with the grip tape; the newer ones from CZC/CGW have texturing machined in.

Thanks for all the feedback, guys. Now at least I have some options to think over.

I have a question, though. What does G10 mean?

G10 is the type of fiberglass used to make the grip. They're nice because they're light and can be cut quite intricately for texture, or sanded down if it's too much.

Another comment I would make about the G10 grips is they hold up quite well. I've also found that even if I do need to lightly sand certain areas of them they still look great.

For me the best thing about G10 is that it retains, or perhaps even improves, traction when my hands get sweaty.

OK, thanks for the clarification. Sounds to me that G10 is the way to go then, in case I might need to sand or modify the grips.

Anybody know how easy it is to cut patterns into G10? I'm thinking specifically of checkering, since I have a complete set of checkering tools. What I'm thinking is maybe I should look for a plain set of G10 grips, then sand them down to a thickness I feel comfortable with, and then checker the grips to improve traction.

You might give Stoner CNC a look, they are made out of G-10 also variety of colors and textures. I just purchased a pair for 1911 great fit excellent service fast shipping.
