recomendations for IWB holster (non-belt) for CC

i'll probably catch some flack for this, but i have a simple bagmaster IWB holster that retails for ~15-20, and ive had no issues with it. id love to try some of the fancier holsters just to see if there's a difference, but i cant see paying upwards of $50 for something that stays hidden.

A belt helps.
Price is not an issue for this particular portion of my life-saving gear. Function is of paramount importance. Awareness comes when the first time you NEED to draw your gun and its holster either hinders one's ability to properly grasp the gun for withdrawing, or the holster comes along with it.

At some point yoiu will recognize that a good belt is a mandatory part of your carry system.
Denial doesn't alter reality.
See, guns, even wee plastic ones, are still heavy enough to droop yer drawers.
You can try any cheap plastic paddle to further grasp this concept. Fobus gear is decent, Galco a bit further up on the price scale for certain (inexpensive) models, Blade-Tech/ CompTac/ Sidearmor even further.
Try some holsters if possible before buying. And find a good-sized box....

Wear a "A-Shirt" under it. That's what I do. Works great. I work in a 100+ degree pizza shop all summer long. No problem.

If you are really serious about carry, you need a gun belt.
If you are serious about actually carrying, you need a belt. No matter what holster you've got, it won't work nearly as well as it should because it needs a belt to support the holster and gun.
I'd even argue that the belt is equally, if not more important than the holster when carrying any thing bigger than a pocket gun.
A belt will allow your holster to be both comfortable and functional. Without one, you'll be constantly trying to keep the gun and holster in place.

There is also also holsters out there that are similar to elastic waistbands, and also undershirts that have holsters built in. I also kind of remeber 5.11 Tactical having some clothing with built in holsters...

Having a shirt in between makes a HUGE difference. I'm no expert, but leather will breathe a lot better than synthetics and just be more comfortable overall, imo.
Here's my Glock 39 in a High Noon IWB holster. I've been using this regularly for 5 years, worn in the center of the back ~ very happy with it.
Notice the belt clip is not only painted, but blued underneath as well.
Do yourself a favor. Google: "custom Kydex holsters" and "custom leather holsters" see what's offered in Kydex and leather before you make a final decision. Also, check out the holster makers return policy. If the return policy doesn't make you jump through hoops, you have a pretty good idea that they expect you will like what you receive.
