Recoil vs. Gas operated shotguns

Hi,

I'm a die hard Benelli fan, especially because easy of care and durability.
I live in Brazil, so, I don't have authorized dealers for parts and maintenance. In short words, we have to stuck with what we got.

I was not interested in gas operated shotguns because I had an impression that they were more fragile, especially because they need o-ring replacements, and things like that. It is a kind of mith I've created.

Now I see friends in the club with Berettas, never having any problems whatsoever.

What do you guys think ?

Thanks in advance,

I have experienced a higher degree of reliabilty with gas operated guns than I have with recoil operated guns. I also prefer to shoot the softer shooting gas operated guns. I have only ever needed one part for a semi-auto shotgun other than an o-ring in over 200K rounds fired. The o-rings, even in brazil, are easy enough to get and very cheap if the gas gun you like uses them. The last time I needed Remington O-rings I took it to the hardware store and matched it to a general purpose o-ring, I think I bought 10 of them for 6 or 7 dollars. You can also get O-rings at plumbing shops, hydraulic shops, farm implement shops, heavy equipment dealers, etc.
