I just got a new recoil spring for my Kimber Custom today in the mail. I ordered it from the Kimber website. The thing is, when I compare it to the old spring, the new one is about an inch longer than the old one. Is this a problem? Did I use my old spring so much (6000+ rounds) that I compacted it down an inch. I'll take it to the range sometime this week to test the new spring. When I pull the slide it feels a bit more tight like it did when it was new. With the old one, it was getting to the point that a 5 year old could've pulled that slide back with no problems but the weapon still worked perfectly despite the old spring. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.
