Hi guys,

I dont know what happened but my orginal post dissapeared :(

Havent been on for along time and I have a question.

What recoil pads are available for a 870 sythetic?

My local shop sold me a pachmeyer for the 870 but it was 1/4 inch to short.

Any other suggestions?

thanks and have a great thanksgiving!! :)

hmmm times have changed

I guess times have changed in the last few months?

I just read the message about the guy asking for info on slugs, now I see why my original post was deleted :(

What happened? Used to be a great place to "chat" and ask questions.

Well **** happens :(

take care

Hayden,

I hope you don't mind if I piggyback on to your thread. I had a guy ask me today about where to get a "lace-on'" leather recoil pad for an old Ithaca double that somebody butchered, in a stock shortening gone terribly wrong. Any help on a good place to get one would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try this websitewww.brownells.com

Ask them to send you a catalog, they will for $5.00 which will be refunded the first time you buy from them. Or if you can qualify as a firearms related business they will send you a catalog for free. Unfortunately their webvsite does not allow you to search under generic titiles such as "Recoil Pads" but the catalog has all the info you will need on the subject.

There are any number of combinations of recoil pads and spacers available to allow you to to whatever you want to your gun. Five pages of pads that do everything but load the gun.

Yes they have lace on pads, pull on pads and pads that adjust to your build. They have Youth pads and devices to install the pads.

If you can't find what you want there, it probably does not exist.

My $.02

Hayden,
I've got the ugliest recoil pad possible on a new Browning White Gold Medallion. But the darn thing works so good, I have to at least tell you about it.

It's "The Shooter's Friend" by Riecken's out of Evansville Indiana. Cabela's has them for $12.99. It's a black slip on pad, easy on, easy off, won't harden or get brittle with age, or harm your stock. It's the first low cost "gadget" I've ever bought that works as advertised. They claim 70 % reduction in recoil. I believe it. My rifle is a 300 Win Mag and I shot 40 rounds through it, wearing just a t-shirt (yes, I had pants on), from the prone position. And I'm not a huge, recoil exempt, kind of guy.

The thing is butt ugly, but works like a charm!!! You can't put it on wrong, and it will fit any long gun out there.
