Does Limbsaver make a recoil pad for the 590? I see them for the 500, 835, 930 and 935, but I don't see one for the 590. If Limbsaver doesn't make one, does another manufacture? Not interested in the Knoxx Stock.
Don't know for sure, but I would guess the 590 has the same stock dimensions as it's parent gun, the 500. Just a guess though, because the 835 also has the 500 as it's direct predecessor. Why don't you contact Limbsaver and ask?
I've started that route with them. Sent an e-mail to them yesterday. Hopefully, I will hear back from them soon. I just thought someone here with a 590 might know of another source if they don't make one.
Adding a recoil pad will make the length of pull longer. This can affect recoil, aim, and general comfort. Unless the stock is too short to begin with, it should be shortened before adding a pad.
All the Walmarts I've checked didn't carry gun-specific limbsaver pads, just the generic slip on. I ordered one about a month ago and put it on my 500. My impressions are that felt recoil isn't any less but there was no soreness in my shoulder the evening of or the day after shooting. Pull feels about the same as the stock pad. The only thing I don't like about it is the tacky feel to it. I keep mine propped in the corner when not in use and it seems to pick up fuzz and animal hair off of the carpet.
