Reciprocity -vs- Honors CCW???

Whats the difference as to whether a state honors or has reciprocity with your states pistol permit/CCW?

Reciprocity means that both states recognize the others CHL. (a reciprical agreement) If the other state honors yours, then yours may not officially recognized the others yet. There are a number of states that instead of negotiating reciprocity with each state just blanket honor any other states permit.

Keep in mind also that just because another state has reciprocity or honors your CCW, you're still governed by that state's laws while you're there. They may (probably will) have different restrictions on where you can or can't carry.
