Rechambering help needed

Can a rifle currently chambered in
7mm.08 be rechambered to .284
Winchester ? Specs appear that it
should work , I however don't know
the ins & outs of this process.

Yes.

However, if you want to shoot heavier bullets than the 7mm-08, say heavier than 150 grs, then you will have to deal with a neck almost exactly one caliber in length. Just like the 7mm-08.

So, it would be prudent to check your magazine length (bolt action?) and see if you have the room there and in the chamber to keep longer bullets from having to be set back too far into the case body.
 
Muzzleflash, as Sensop said yes you can. If longer heavier bullets are a problem the mag box can be altered as well as having the throat cut to the depth you need. George
