Rechambering a CVA Optima Elite

After telling my smith that I wanted to rechamber my CVA Optima, he said it couldn't be done without special fixtures and such. He said the lug would have to be cut off and tig welded back on, so he wouldn't do it. Is there any way around this?

Yes. Have it done by a competent gunsmith. No need to remove the forearm attatchment lug. Work "between centers"
