Yesterday, I hosted three adult relatives (two guys and a woman); teaching them to shoot their defense handguns and some of my own .22s, .38s, and .45s.
I like teaching defense shooting with DA revolvers because it's easy to see how smoothly they press the DA trigger and can tell whether it's a good shot or not, without even looking at the target.
Once the trigger squeeze is good, they can move on to smaller targets and single-action or semi-autos.
We had a great time shooting several handguns and we all enjoyed shooting small metallic silhouettes, clay targets mounted on a board, etc.
