Im undecided on what to get except I want a .243 and I was about to buy a Savage 110 yesterday when I was scared off when I was told that there quality control went down hill and customer service sucks. I don't know how true that is but maybe someone can shed some light on this for me. I would like a would stock and light barrel.
I know that their triggers are a little rough and their stock isn't the greatest.
Have any of you guys bought a Savage recently or ever had to deal with their customer service?

Or am I better off just saving my money for a Remington 700BDL?
I was looking into the 110 package since it already has the scope on it and I could save my money in the mean time for a better scope.

I haven't heard anything but praise for Savage lately. It's been a while since I bought my Savage, but I love it and would buy another. I have been hearing some complaints on Remington ,and can say that thier guns quality has decreased in the last five years. I don't think you'd go wrong with the Savage.

Hudge,
Which Savage do you have?

Does anyone know if Savage's wood stocks are dual pillar bedded? It mentions on their website that their synthetic is but doesn't comment about the wood.

I recently purchased a Savage 12BVSS and the wood stock was pillar bedded. I havent had to deal with customer service, except to call and find out what the torque limits were on the action screws. I would recommend the gun.
