Recall Ryan: Vote to Oust Corrupt Illinois Governor

You've got to love an opportunity to remove any corrupt (and rabidly anti-gun) politician from office when given the chance.

Just a little history on Governor George Ryan. Prior to his successful run for Governor, Georgie boy was Illinois' Secretary of State, where we ran what is better known as the "license for bribe scandal". This program, alledgedly overseen by Georgie, allowed commercial truck license testees to obtain their commercial license (18 wheeler) by simply contributing a certain sum to the George Ryan for Governor campaign, therefore bypassing the actual testing requirements.

Moreover, Georgie was endorsed for Governor by our old buddy Richie Daley (Chicago's Heir Kommandant General). Daley ignored the Democratic candidate for Governor Gene Poshard who was pro-gun, and chose rather, to back the Republican candidate Ryan who was (is) rabidly anti-gun.

Ryan recently re-signed the "Safe Neighborhoods Act" which was found to be UNCONSTITUTIONAL by the Illinois Supreme Court. After having the Court rejected Act massaged a tiny bit, it was reintroduced (by Ryan) and recently passed into "law". This is bad news for gun owners, as it finds those carrying (or transporting) an "illegal gun" (defined by a ridiculous set of biased rules) to be instant felons.

Let's get rid of this jerkweed now.

Paul, It was Glen Poshard, not Gene. The SNA didn't change any laws regaerding transport of guns by law abiding citizens. It will be a misdemeanor for first time offenders and the rules are the same as they have been for years. I do agree with getting Ryan out of office. I voted for Poshard.

I hope you can knock him out, Paul.
I live across the River in Missouri and its creepy having an obvious jerk in power so close to home.

Did you catch the news tonight? A female SIU student hit the Guv with a cream pie to protest the SIU board of directors.

hahahahahahahahaha!

What a great state, Illinois. (Sorry, Chicago)

I lived in Springfield IL 25+ years ago as a teenager. I remember another Sec. of State at the time... Paul Powell. Died of a heart attack or something, and they found a hundred grand or two in shoe boxes in his bedroom closet. (He obviously was a diligent saver!).

And the beat goes on. We, in CA, have our own problems of course. Blechhhhh

jcoyoung,

I didn't hear about that one. SIU is my alma-mater and I live about 7 miles north of the main campus. I'll have to find the story.

A Southern Illinois University female student walked up to Georgie in front of network cameras and pegged him directly in the face with a huge cream pie!

Georgie is currently on a State tour handing out tax payer monies to various programs, all the while making little speeches on how he had nothing to do with the "license for bribe scandal". He deserved more than a pie!

Now that would have been something to see! Did anyone get a picture of this and was it in the paper? :D Love it! I also went and voted to get rid of this criminal.

Well, I find I must agree with you Revere.

George Ryan has got to go!

I used to live in Chicago. In fact I voted for Ryan over whoever the democrat was. I didn't know a lot about Ryan, but I did hear that he was Sen. Phil Graham's Illinois campaign manager so I thought he must be a conservative. I figured that Jim Edgar, the last Republican impersonator, as governor was an aberration.

The next thing I know, after moving to Calif. (too cold in Chicago) is that George Ryan has become Jesse Jackson’s best friend, he visits Cuba and plays footsie with Castro and then becomes an anti.

To complete his transformation to total jerk, all he has to do is to embrace Democrat Dawn Clark Netche’s state income tax increase the way Edgar did (this is after he ran against it in the general campaign).

I believe that there is something aberrant about the Jim Thompson, Jim Edgar, George Ryan, Tribune newspaper branch of the Illinois Republican party.

There are other republicans who are o.k. Of course the democrats, if you can believe it, would have been much worse.

Unfortunately out here in California, there are some of the same errant republicans. Specifically I'm talking about Quackenbush, the Insurance Czar. This is an elected office here.

Quackenbush is the same guy who turned coat and cast the deciding vote for the state assault weapons ban.

Now Quack is in deep trouble for taking big sums of money (bribes?) from the insurance companies that he is suppose to regulate. He has also given regulation breaks to those insurance companies that gave the most.

I see a trend here. Those politicians, who turncoat on the 2nd Amendment, seem to be the ones engaging in corruption.

Miss D...

Apparently it was all over the local papers this morning. I heard the Chicago Tribune had it for certain.

I saw it on WGN News while eating my breakfast this morning, and I nearly coughed up my Cherios.

What was very interesting was how Ryan's security detail was completely unprepared for someone walking right up to the governor and splatting him directly in the kisser with a cream pie. It could have just as well been something more tasty than a cream pie which splattered Ryan.

Mr. Pub,

Out of the two candidates for Gov last election, Ryan and Poshard, Ryan was the most liberal. He is from northern Illinois andhas been a part of the Chicago political machine from day one. Poshard is a Southern Illinois good ol' boy who is pro RKBA. Even though he is a Democrat he is fairly conservative.
