I've got a Trius "One Step" that I really like. It can throw doubles, and gets the targets out a pretty good distance. The best thing is that the spring isn't under tension when you cock the arm. The arm is attached to a foot peddle by the spring. Stepping on the foot peddle puts tension on the spring, and releases the arm. I think they run around $100. (Mine was a gift, so I'm not entirely sure.)
