Rear sight wiggle

The adjustable-Bomar style- rear sight on
my Kimber Gold Match has some side by side
"wiggle". Is this normal since it is designed
to adjust? If not, would the problem be in
the fit of the roll pin which holds it in
the frame notch?
Thanks.

I have a Kimber Classic that I had them put on adjustable sights. Mine also has "the wiggle". I called and talked to Kimber. There is a set screw underneath the blade.
If you remove the big screw on top (the actual adjusting screw) then you can get to the set screw underneath. It has a very small allen head. Tighten this down and it should be okay. Remember however that once you remove the big set screw and then put back on you will have to completly resight in you pistol.
Take care.

Thank you.
I've removed the vertical adjustment
screw and located the set screw you
mentioned. It appears on my sight it is
a flat head rather than allen head.
At any rate, there appears to be a spring
or small piece of metal intersecting the
set screw from the rear of the hole.

Let's say this is the set screw (I).
The piece I'm referring to intersects it like
this (-I). The set up is hard to see even with a bright light. The problem is, I can't
get the screw to turn in either direction.
I called Kimber, but they're closed for the
weekend. Can you help?

Thanks.

Mine had an allen head.
Can you push the horizontial piece of metal back in anyway. Is it possibly spring loaded and is put there to keep the screw from backing out? It you can push it into a recess of somekind then maybe you can then turn the screw. I am just guessing at this point. Sorry I could not help any more than that. By the way once I tightened down the set screw on mine, then I had no more wiggle of any kind. Good luck.

Got it! Thanks.

You saved me a two hour round trip to the
gunsmith. I'm not the swiftest tinkerer
around, but even I can appreciate how
logically designed that Kimber sight is.
