Sorry, but MARE'S LEGS are not made to particularly be fired from the hip. They are made to be fired with one or two hands while aiming down the sights like you would shoot any other handgun. People may fire them from the hip on occasion for fun, but people do that with nearly all guns so that is not a very good argument. People also target shoot while firing from the hip, so that is a bad argument from that perspective as well.
Wanted Dead or Alive is also not a very good example for this point. If you watch the show closely (and I have, I own the whole series) you will notice that virtually everyone on that show shoots from the hip or otherwise shoots without looking down the sights, including with RIFLES. So does that mean all rifles and revolvers are not target guns and are meant to be shot from the hip?
The annoying thing is that I just had a similar discussion on another forum regarding pistol-grip shotguns. Apparently people only believe what they see in movies.
Oh, and BTW, a HOG'S LEG is a big caliber revolver with a long barrel, like Dirty Harry's S&W 29, not a short barreled and short stocked lever action.
