Rear Iron sight on my ported 24" smooth bore slugster barrell is lose

Hey,

So a couple months ago I took my Mossberg 500 out looking for turkeys. The problem is that the rear iron sight on my barrel has come loose (the actual piece with the gap for lining up has come away from the mount and when I slide it in place there is nothing to keep it there and it just slides right through).

Unsure what could have happened but I have a hard enough time finding info on this specific barrel let alone the sights mounted to it. Thought I would try here for some advice on fixing it as I don't have the cash to get a whole new sight at the moment.

Will try and post pictures later this evening to make it clearer as to whats happened.

Thanks in advance

~Edit~

Here are pictures hopefully this makes it clearer what the problem is (as well as identified the barrel sufficiently)

The white on top indicate a 'bashing'? As in it got dropped, landed on the sight and knocked it off?
You might be able to put the sight back into the dovetail. Put the barrel into a padded vise, the just put the sight back in, probably right to left(try it both ways if one doesn't work.), with a padded brass punch and plastic mallet.
If it won't go back, you can still shoot it using just the front sight. Sit the target on top of the blade just like you do a bead sight.
Mossberg does make ported, rifle sighted, barrels. Fairly standard thing for 'em. How to sight it in should be in the manual.

It looks as if the screw head that is supposed to hold the sight blade to the base is broken off. Can you use pliers and remove that screw? Contact Mossberg and see if they have a replacement.
