really stuid bipod question

Which way do your bipod legs point when it is folded and why? I usually point mine toward the muzzle because it makes offhand shooting easier. I wondered what others did.

Harris bipods

The instructions for my Harris bipod said to mount the legs forward because otherwise the recoil will cause the barrel to move slightly. The shock is absorbed at the hinge.

i point mine forward and tie a boot lace to each leg so when in a 3 gun stage i may gave some CQB followed by some long range and i can jerk the lace and get the legs down and go prone in a hurry...Dick

Every bipod I have seen is mounted forward with the feet folded running parallel to the barrel when not in use. That also makes a lot of sense since if you are shooting prone, you are probably pushing forward on the legs, and if they were the other way, they would collapse.
