Ready For ABC Monday PM?

I want to, but I'll be busy at the time... anyone going to tape it or make a RM stream of it?

As for objective? I think they'll make a semi-honest attempt at being fair (in the name of so-called 'objective' journalism)- so there will be pro-arguments and explanations... but I think there will be more anti arguments and emotions displayed. The ad said something along the lines of "The oldest and most misunderstood lobby in American History... why are they so powerful and have so much money?" Honest questions, I suppose, but said with quite a slant... ah well.

Monday night at 10:00 PST, may be aired at an earlier time in your area, Peter Jennings, ABC, will be presenting both sides of the Second Amendment and guns debate. One can only imagine that he would have a major bias. Previous posts mention that his crew attended the last NRA convention. I would think that they would show the most right wing extreme factions. That position can sound pretty threatening to the general public. Perhaps, haven't seen it before, but perhaps he can be somewhat objective. I'm not holding my breath.

Why bother? You know what they will say.....it's what they always say.....find something more productive to do....reload a couple of boxes of your favorite caliber.....clean your guns....read the Constitution to your kids.....cook dinner for your wife.....play with your dog. :)

Thanks for the heads-up. This might be a rerun... But it will be on at 8PM EDT, right before Monday Night Football. I will definitely tape it to watch when I get home from shooting.

I have no interest in what a liberal Canadian has to say about anything in America!

This sounds like another good 'teaching moment' to work on critical-thinking skills with the children.

Much more interesting/fun to do it on Second Amendment issues rather than in church, as I had to do this morning. :( In the midst of a fairly decent sermon, the guest speaker took one passage waaay out of context and said that it says the opposite of what it really says. I really, really hate that. So there I was, in a small church, whispering to my 10 yo daughter to clarify it right then and there. Uncool.

I'd rather shred Peter Jennings, thank you. :)

Just found the schedule. Looks like it's airing at about 12:15 midnight in Utah. So the new order of priorities is now 1) learn how to program this new vcr to record unsupervised, then 2) watch tape with our older children at a convenient time. --D

Not to nitpick, but as a clarification, ABC is promoting the show not as a 2nd Amendment/gun control discussion, but an expose on the "power" and "tactics" of the NRA.

I anticipate this is an effort to persuade anti's that pro-RKBA Americans have been deluded by the NRA's propaganda machine.

Ergo, get rid of/damage the credibility of the NRA, and we will all suddenly achieve enlightenment, destroy our evil GUNS, put flowers in our hair and sing cumbaya.

Just my take; we'll see tonight.

Scott, I agree. The promos have been biased attempts to portray the NRA as a dark, powerful cabal of plotters. The show will not deviate from this course. I'm not sure I'm going to bother watching it.

I am going to watch this, but I have to take suitable precautions. My girlfriend is going to tape my hands into oven mits and all guns will be removed from the area.

I don't intend to watch this tripe, but for anybody that does, please make note of who the show's sponsors are.
