Just ordered some 100 gr Sierra btsp for my 243 got to looking at my reloading manual for powders to use and I notice Sierra does not have a load for RE15 so I look at my speer manual under 100 gr btsp and they have a load for RE15 I like RE 15 and have several lbs of it and would like to use it for my sierra bullets. Your thoughts?

In-between 4064 & 4320. 15 is a medium range so so powder. Being Candid: just about anyone's powder can duplicate the velocity your seeing shooting those extruded ugly 100 gr bullets . Where a 243 shines. Is its shooting lighter weight bullets 75-80 & 87 gr. HPs. Its not unusual with 75 gr. and good glass mounted to see 5 rds. clover leafed groupings the size of a dime at 100 yrds. Just want to mention. The one thing those lighter weight bullets have over the heavier weights. They churn up the Hydrostatic SHOCK factor which stops the game animals ability to get a grip on just what happen to it. By the time the animal does get a grip. Its to late to react do to its hemorrhaging interior wound.

Bullets not having enough hydostatic shock guarantee its shooter he's going to slip-on some comfortable shoes ~check his flashlight. As he about to do some long distance tracking on that Big Game animal he just wounded with a well placed bullet..
