What is the difference between the RCBS 505 and RCBS 502 beam scales? I know that the 502 has only 2 poises and the 505 has 3, but am wondering if that makes any practical difference and what that is. It will only be used for spot checking powder drops for shotgun reloads.

I think that is the difference, the third poise, and of course price.

Thanks Joe. I found a used 505 on Flea Bay that looks like new for $50- including shipping and ordered it.

Yeah, Zippy. I thought about that, but asked here since I was only interested in its application for target shotguns. I almost went with the 10-10, but thought this is plenty for my needs. What I liked about the 10-10 was that I think you could weigh an enter shotshell if you suspected it may be light shot or powder. The 5-0-5 maxes out at just over 1-1/8 ounces.
