I bought several sets of RBCS dyes the other day, used. Most didnt come with set up instructions. Can anyone advise me on the best/easiest way to setting up the seat and crimp

For rifle seating adjustment and assuming you are going to crimp, proceed as follows: First back off the seating die enough so that crimping does not occur. Now seat a bullet and adjust the seating depth with the seating stem to where you want it but then back off enough with the seating stem to prevent further seating. Now slowly turn down the die body until the proper taper or roll crimp is obtained. Maintaining that die body position, the lock screw can be set for proper crimping. Now turn the bullet seating stem back down to where bullet contact is made and seating depth and crimping should now about be coordinated. But to achieve final seating depth, it will probably be necessary to lower the ram slightly and screw the seating stem down, to compensate for thread looseness, until desired seating depth is again achieved. The adjustments now should be well coordinated and the seating stem can be locked into position. The same procedure can of course be followed for handgun seating and crimping and assumes the same die is used for seating and crimping in the same operation (as most or all of my numerous RCBS rifle seating/crimping dies are used).

What caliber dies, there are two different types of crimp dies, roll crimp & taper crimp. Taper dies are for autos, roll crimps are for revolvers. Instructions, covers both setups, also rifle. I'm getting back to as we speak, sizing up some 44 mag. revolver cases. 3 die set, size & decaping die, expander and seating die. condor bravo covered setup.

I strongly suggest that you follow that link and read the actual instructions per rcbs.

Condor is right, but you need to read what the makers of those d I especially want you to read. There's a reason that instructions are included with products. T h at reason is that you need to know all about the price o ducts rather than just picking up bits along the way

Just started loading up some 44mags after a number of years. 3 die RCBS set, I first cleaned my brass, sized & deprimed, trimmed to the same case length for a role crimp, primed, belled the case, install powder charge, screwed the seating die to touch the case mouth, then unscrew one full turn, snug down lock ring, seat the bullet to desired OAL . Back out seating stem, lower die to get the crimp needed, screw seating stem down the touch the bullet, lock in position. Now your die will seat & crimp in one stroke. Hope I Helped.
