It gets a bit interesting. There are recommendations out there for them (I don't have one)
I do work controls so am familiar with how its gone about (or not). Unfortunately they don't list the values in PID format (Proportional, Integral and Derivitive in the controls world).
What I have seen on the Lyman Gen 6 is they ran it medium speed and if you put the right insert into the tube (comes with two or can use none) it works well.
More complex is the Hornady Auto Dispenser with various settings.
The most helpful one was moving the display setting to Slow, very fast but stopped the overshoot. My take is if I don't overshoot I can pick grains out of the tube with a small screwdriver to hit it dead on if I want. Usually ok with 1/10 either way)
That setting seemed to be a pre set PID (or PI, not sure which they use)
Getting into the Hornady programs even on a 1/10 move of whatever value they allow you to adjust turns it into a sloth.
I think I am more partial to the Lyman for control, the touch screen is too small and hard to get input on though. New to the Hornady though so still coming up to speed. Overall its quite a bit faster than the Lyman.
All interesting takes on how you go about it.
If the overshoot is consistent (or fairly) then you can try setting in a lower value and the random one that is still low pick the grains out (assumes stick powder, havn't tried it with ball powders yet - the ones I ran on the Lyman dispensed nicely)
