Rattling ejector rod on GP100.

Hey everyone. I took the cylinder off of the crane on my GP100. When I got it back together, the ejector rod rattles around a little bit. Everything seems to work okay and the rod doesn't seem to want to come out of the gun, but did I do something wrong? The rod isn't binding anything. I'm guessing that when I cleaned all the gunk (10 years worth) the rod became free enough to rattle around a little. Should I worry about this? I'm pretty sure I got the gun back together right but just want to check on this.

Thanks everyone for your help.

It sounds normal to me.

My SP 101 ejector rod rattles, even when the gun was brand new! I think its just part of the Ruger design???

The ejector rod on the GP-100 is just that; an ejector rod. It does nothing else and there is a fair amount of play in it, unlike Smith & Wesson, Colt, and most other revovlers.
