I am looking at these four as I have failed to turn up any Colt Mustangs/Gvt.380s around here.
Kahrs win on thinness, Glocks on triggers and size to performance. P9 which seems to combine the weight and size advantage is an unknown to me (have yet to see one).
I am still unsure which factors (length, height, thickness, weight) are the critical items for deep concealment. Advice?
PS: I keep hearingabout hard take-down on Kahrs...any truth to that?
Out of the ones that you mentioned, I would recommend the MK9 for DEEP CONCEALMENT. It's a bit on the heavy side to carry around 14-18 hours a day but that weight is needed to absorb the recoil in such a small gun. The weight doesn't really weigh you down (as it's less than a pound and a half) but it does cause the gun to move around -- requiring frequent adjustments to keep it where you want it.
If you've got money to burn, SM&A (don't have the link handy but if you search some of my older post, you'll come across one) will take a P9 that you send them and chop it down to the size of a MK9. I understand that they do really great work but I have no personal experience with them myself.
If, on the other hand, you have time to spare, I understand that Kahr will be coming out with a smaller version of the P9 in the near future (again, "near future" is relative). Regards,
Oleg, I just bought a P9 and also have the steel Kahr too. I've handled the sub-compact Glock models, but I've never shot them. For what you mentioned, the MK series would win, hands down, for the size to power factor. The P9 would surely beat the Glocks for size and weight, and don't EVEN compare their triggers. Glock is not even a contender in that regard!
