Ranges that rent

Just found out that their is an indoor range in my area (Daytona Beach FL.) that rents pistols. How does that work generaly? Pay per hour or bullet? What are rates generally like? Is a safety class mandatory to rent?

At the range I used to go to, it was $10.00 to rent... I don't know what the time limit was though (1-2 hours maybe).

Around my area, 7 bucks to rent with no time limit. You have to use their ammo though and pay their expensive prices.

At the Bullet Trap in Plano, Texas you rent per gun used (there is a member rate and non-member rate) and you must use their ammo.

In McKinney, Texas at the Collin County Gun Range, it is simply the rental on the gun only without the ammo-use clause. Neither range has a time limit.
 
Guncraft in Knoxville, TN: $7.50 per gun/hour for the first gun, $5.00 for each additional gun. Rental case has 50-odd handguns, lots of Glocks and SIGs, as well as wheelguns,1911s and mouse guns.

Class III rentals are $20/hour. Both class III and handgun rentals can be used with your own ammo if you want to bring yours, but it has to be factory stuff.

Class III rentals inlcude: H&K MP5-PDW, MP5A2, MP5-SD, CAR-16 in 9mm, suppressed Ruger .22, Uzi 9mm.

Controlled full-auto bursts allowed on the range, providing you stay on target.

I never rent. It gives me an excuse to buy everything that looks nice.

If you're talking about Hot Shots on Nova Road, let me know what the deal is after you go there. My wife and I go to Strickland's to practice but I'm thinking about taking her to Hot Shots (or Shoot Straight down toward Orlando) to rent a few guns so she can pick out her own carry piece.
 
There is a place our here in PRK called TargetMasters that rents. I think it's about $10/hr, with a good selection of handguns. But they have a strange policy...if you come in alone and they don't know you they won't rent to you. It seems that a few years ago a future-challenged individual decided it was cheaper to rent than buy and committed suicide right on the range.

OTOH, the staff is helpful, they have a great selection of weapons, they support RKBA (even in a hostile environment), support LEO's, just an all around nice place to hang out...:-)
