Figured I would start 2015 out right by going to the range:

I have owned several "Hawkins" Rifles in the last 50 years, the twist rate for the replicas was usually 1 in 48, as are all the ital.mfg and the Traditions. I am an avid Black Powder shooter and still have five rifles and 1 pistol My favorite of them all is a J.P. McCoy in 45 cal. Next is a custom built 50 Caliber with swamp barrel by Getz two Traditions "Kentucky" percussion Rifle's in 50 Cal. both these have a competition barrel made in Brazil and are extremely accurate. For an inexpensive BP rifle quality is quite good. The last one is my remaining Hawkins 50 Cal sold by Cabalas Italian Investarms MFG. and slightly modified by me (added wooden stock) I run a 40 shot silhouette match on the first Sunday of the month and have some very interesting shooters show up to shot. Lots of fun Littlerock Ca (near Palmdale Home of the Space Shuttles).
