Range results after 20 years..and ammo question

Hi All-

As I posted on the Semi-Auto forum, I haven't shot in about 20 years. Went to the range for the first time last night finally.
The gun (Glock 22) is new to me (used) and as you can see, I kept stabbing the trigger. That was only at 15 yards. The group at the bottom is the last magazine (3rd) of the bunch. I could tell I was tiring and getting sloppy. I need much more practice and some arm exercises!

Also, I picked up some of my spent brass and noticed this dent in all of them. I don't recall (remember 20 years ago) that being normal as I used to reload (9mm) back then. Is this just a case of cheap ammunition (Independence 165gr, FMJ) or something else?

All-in-all, I had a great time and was able to shoot 150 rounds before the range closed for the night.

I used to have a Tec-9 that did that to every ejected case, but it's the first I've seen a Glock do that. Usually in the .40 cal Glocks you'll get a bit of case bulge just in front of the rim due to the chamber not being fully supported, but I've never seen the cases get dented like that. As long as it's throwing every case clear, and you aren't wanting to reload, I think the dent will be a non-issue. If you are wanting to reload, which in case of the Glock, is a bit of an issue due to the bulge mentioned previously, that dent needs to be figured out, as case life is going to be shortened anyway, and with the dent, spent brass might not be re-useable.

I'll let the reloading guru's be the definitive one's on that though, lol.

As far as the shooting goes, that's not bad at all. Glocks are duty accurate, and that target is plenty duty accurate. I say you did fine, and as you get back into shooting shape, that 3 mag group will only get smaller.

That is really good shooting, especially after a long lay-off.

The dent is nothing to worry about. The brass is hitting the slide as it's being ejected. The slide could be delated or too quick in its travel. The angle of the ejector could be sending it at the wrong angle.

If you reload it will look like new after sizing.
