I already have a Sig P238 two-tone, which has an alloy lower (which saves weight, making the gun a superb CCW gun) but I decided to also get the Sig P238 HD, which is all-steel and weighs about 4 oz. more (enough to notice).
I got the gun to the range today, and put about 90 rounds through it. Had one jam on about the 80th round, which I quickly cleared and which did not recur. I was shooting Fiocci target rounds, FMJ ball.
The gun shoots very nicely; superbly for a gun this size. I got lots of bulls-eyes, and even more non-bull's-eyes.
One of the things that I really like about the P238 is that it is essentially a simplified and scaled down 1911. The gun is easy to break down and clean and even the extractor and firing pin are removed in much the same way as a 1911 albeit a little simpler.
Anyway, I am pleased with the gun and I may make it one of my CCW licensed guns (in CA OC we are allowed three).
