Well I bought a Ruger LCR in 22 rimfire at the gunshow awhile ago and I finally got out to shoot it. After putting some Federal 40 grain though it I broke out the 60 grain Aguila SSS ammunition to try out and the results are good.
Accuracy at 8 paces is just as good as the Federal shooting both 1 and 2 handed while standing with no sign of keyholing. With slow fire I was able to keep all the shots within 3-4" on the pizza box. The recoil of the Aguila is only slightly more than the Federal and POI was the same for both loads as far as I could see. I alternated between the Federal and Aguila on one cylinder and then closed the cylinder without looking. You can tell which chamber was the Federal and which was the Aguila. You are indeed getting a bit more oomph from the Aguila than the Federal out of the short barrel.
The BIG issue was the extraction. On my Taurus 94 extraction of the Aguila cases is sticky and difficult, even when squeaky clean, cases will jump the extractor and jam the gun. On the Ruger extraction was smooth and effortless. The short cases did not bind or get stuck under the extractor in any way even when pushing the ejector rod slowly, intentionally trying to get it to jam.
So if you want to CC a 22 revolver and want to use the heavy 60 grain Aguila ammunition then I can vouch for it being a very good combination.
