I know that Kimber sometimes gets bad press around here, but I thought that I would relate my own experience with the Kimber Eclipse Target II. Picked it up late last year at Turner's.
Firstly, this is the ONLY .45 I have that I have not done any modifications to. It comes with adjustable sights, and Tritium sights. I like the stock grips and have not changed them. Everything about the gun was perfect right out of the box.
This is a very accurate gun, in the same class as my Colt Gold Cups. When I shoot the Kimber I have this wonderful feeling that I can "thread a needle" with it because of its accuracy. If I am having a good day the Kimber will reward me with wonderful shot groups.
It is also a very "tight" gun. It likes to be run "wet" with a fair amount of lube along the slide. Absent this, after about 100-150 rounds it sometimes fails to slide all the way forward when you chamber the first round. If lubed well this problem does not occur. Some .45s are not picky about lube; this one is.
Anyway, I took the gun out today and put 150 rounds through it. Perfect function, and as always the gun shot as accurately as my poor skills permit, which is another way of saying that the gun made me look good.
By the way, the gun looks pretty good itself.
