I went with a buddy of mine to the Strickland range near Daytona and had several "firsts" today -
The .45 and AR-15 were great fun - I shot the .45 as well as my 9mm and was impressed at the accuracy of the AR-15 in the hands of a newbie (due no doubt to the longer line of sight than a handgun).
The Ruger P95 continues to impress me as a great value for $270 - 390 rounds through it now without a single FTF or any kind of glitch. I'm making progress on controlling my breathing and gently squeezing the trigger, and am pretty consistently keeping all shots at 15 yards within a 10x10 inch square.
BTW, the Strickland range is a very nice facility.
- first time shooting .45 auto - Colt M1911A1
- first time shooting AR-15
- first time shooting reloaded (by me) rounds from my S&W 686 - no glitches or misfires in 72 rounds of .38 special 158 gr. LRN and 125 gr. FMJ rounds
