This morning, I packed my range back and headed to the local club. Out of the range bag came the Stinger. For those of you who do not know the different Les Baer models, the Stinger is a commander length slide with an officer's model.
I posted 4 targets up @ 25 yards. Before I go on, the following "tools" were used:
200 rounds 230 grain FMJ
100 rounds 230 grain JHP
150 rounds 200 grain JHP
150 rounds 200 grain LSWC
50 rounds 185 grain LSWC
All were my reloads.
I loaded my Wilson 7 rnd mag with the 230 gr. FMJ and proceeded to fire. Trigger pull was set at roughly 4 lbs.
The sight picture was excellent with the MMC adjustables. I had to utilize the small allen wrench to adjust the elevation. Two clicks did the job. All my shots were going left so I took the large wrench and drifted the sights. Now I was set.
There were 6 FTF with the 230 gr. FMJ. 2 FTF with the 230 gr. JHP. This occured within the first 320 rounds. After that, not a single hiccup.
At 25 yards, the following grouped at:
Average Best
230 gr. FMJ- 2.75" 1.50"
230 gr. JHP- 3.50" 1.75"
200 gr. JHP- 2.25" 1.25"
200 gr. LSWC- 1.50" 0.50"
185 gr. LSWC- 1.50 0.75"
This was accomplished with 5 shot groups, supported. Sandbagging was not utilized because I don't believe in it for a defensive pistol. Again, these were my reloads, factory ammo results may differ. I'm positive the Stinger can shoot even better. At least, better then me
