Range Report: CZ 75B Compact

Put 100 rounds through my new duo-tone today at 10 and 17 yards.

Functioned flawlessly: no FTFs, FTEs, or any other kind of hiccup. Shoots to POA at these distances.

This is the most fun out-of-the-box pistol I've ever fired--by FAR. What a blast. And it fits my hand perfectly. It was a little slippery from the factory grease (I gave it a cursory cleaning first, but the grease was everywhere). I might look into different grips or put on grip tape one day, but it's absolutely fine right out of the box.

My biggest complaint is that I could not get 10 rounds into the mags. But I knew that'd happen. It comes with a magazine loading tool--guess I'll go with that for the first couple of weeks until they break in.

This gun was making me seriously consider *why* I have my tweaked 1911...

I have a couple of CZ 85 Combats. Absolutely stunning! No malfunctions and the 15 round mags are great (also inexpensive).

Glad you like your CZ!!:D

Congrats on getting one of my fav guns. I want a 2 tone...sniff, sniff. You should check out "Hakan" grips for the compact...hand made and priced very nicely...better put your order in now..he is getting busier all of the time. I couldnt agree more about the fit of the gun...I have larger hands and with the compact grip length...its perfection. Enjoy your gun and shoot well :D

Something else I forgot to mention. This is interesting.

I usually shoot one-handed, with bullseye equipment.
When I'm having a lousy day and I want to see *something* go in the 10 ring, I'll cheat and shoot two-handed for fun. When I do that with my .45 1911, I can't shoot Weaver-style worth a darn. It's Isoceles or nothing.

I was shooting the CZ best in Weaver style, like it was just made for it. Between the stance and focusing on the front sight, it was like I couldn't miss.

I'm green with envy! I've got a Kahr P9 Covert which I like very much but I'm in the market for another pistol. I'd love to get the CZ 75 Compact but was thinking I should get a pistol in .40 this time. I might get the CZ Compact anyway and give the Kahr to my wife. Either that or the CZ 75B in .40 cal.

If you don't mind my asking, how much could I expect to pay for the Compact? Can you get high cap mags for these as with the full size versions? Also, I heard they can be chambered with a 9X21. I don't know anything about that round, is that like a +P+? Are the 9X21's hard to find and expensive?

Congratulations and have fun shootin!!

Big Johnson (Hmmmmm?)

To answer your questions ..the Hi Caps for the compact are far and few between...when you can find them they are spendy.
The are 13 rnd capacity mags...

A good price for a Compact or PCR is around 400$..a solid price.

The fullsize model has been chambered for the 9x21 and they
are very rare also..the compact is 9mm only as for now. The 40
cal has been made and was rumored to be available in the states
yet are impossible to find. Supposedly it will happen in the near future.

The 9x21 round is popular overseas...inbetween the 9mm luger
and the 9x23 Largo chambering.. I dont know this for a fact, but
have heard the Largo is similar ballistically to the 38 super that is popular with competition shooters. I may be wrong...so take it for what its worth.

Shoot well
