Range Question

Anywhere from 200 to 400 rounds of Federal Wally World Value pack 22lr for my little Walther P22. At $8-9 it makes for a great CHEAP day.

I run 1000 rds through my Kimber one day shooting steels and it was a wast of ammo. If I use a timer and do IDPA drills I get better trigger time. Like 200 to 400rds. With my wheel guns 200 to 400rds just playing and having a good time.

I'll shoot 100-200 rounds per session, sometimes less. Each and every shot should be fired with a purpose. A person would be better off shooting 200 rounds a month with a purpose, while maintaining proper technique, than blasting away with reckless abandon until they are ankle deep in brass.

100+ rds .22lr
50 rds .38sp
100 rds .380acp
100 rds 9mm
50 rds .45acp

It all depends on what guns I take to the range, but the rds are what I put through them. I'm probably going to up the .380 rds to 150. I run out of bullets before I run out of fun :) The .380 and .38 go to the range EVERY time, they're carry guns. The .22s are training, both rifle and pistol. The 9mm is a carbine plinker. And the .45 is my husbands.

I usually throw out around 200-300 rounds of 230gr .45acp ball. That will typically last me about an hour or so.

Another important range consideration for me is the number of handguns I shoot during a one day session. I'm in the habit of field strip/cleaning the same day I shoot and if I shoot more than two (three max) guns my level of irritation goes up when cleaning time rolls along.
