Range Day

Got my daughter up this morning at 9 so we could make our way to Philsons crossroads shooting range. When we got to the range, there were couple of fellas shooting. It was one of the best encounters I've ever had with others at the range.

The two guys introduced themselves as Gary and Kelly. They were engaging in their conversations and seem to be generally good people. My daughter is 13, and were very polite and complimentary on her shooting. Never heard them using any kind of profanity in her presence. We talked about guns, reloading, range etiquette and a variety of other things.

As far as the session was concerned, my daughter did great. She was hitting golf balls at 25 yards handily with her Stevens model 22lr using iron sights. We also shot my XDM 40, 1911, and Ruger p89.

You know sometimes a day at the range is just what the doctor ordered, provided you can leave the bigots (government conspiracy guys and the like) at home. Had a similar experience at my local skeet range on Friday. Good times!

It was a sincere pleasure and refreshing to see such manners and ettiquette. My daughter asked when could we go back.
