300, 400, and 500yds today. Felt good shooting, groups are so so. Varget has to vary lot from lot i was having to dial 2/10ths lower than my last shooting with the same load. Overall a fun day none the less.

Hey Blackops, could you post your setup (i.e. action, barrel, scope, stock, etc)? Or a link to another post?

At 500 yards that group is good enough IMO. Unless you are competition shooting, then I don't know.

Looks good man.. I went ahead and scheduled Tuesday off; the weather forecast says sunny and 60. Gonna give 300 yards a go with the new scope and trigger. For now I'll just have to be jealous of that big chunk of flat terrain you've got there!

Sure thing man. Yeah i didn't post 600 wasn't as good as the last time i shot. Although shooting wise i felt better than ever today. Thing is i kept adjusting for wind which is why there is a big flyer on every one. My DOPE was off today to which is weird. 500 seems to be a sweet spot for me for some reason. Last time i shot on this range 500yds had the best look group out of em. Lately shooting has been a huge mind game for me, i guess putting too much pressure on myself, so to be able to shoot and feel good the whole time today was great. I've been shooting our youth model .243 lately that we just put a leupold VX-R patrol on and loaded some 105gr VLDs. Well since the gun doesn't fit i just can't shoot it well at all, really frustrates me. As i said finally got back to my .308 and it was a relief. Just got enough cash to finally order a huber concept 2-stage trigger also. :)

Haven't managed to rebarrel the rifle yet. I still have to rebarrel, add DBM, new trigger, add a bolt knob, thread the barrel, and then send it to ARP over at the hide to paint it.

Rifle: Remington 700 5R
Stock: McM A5
Optic: USO SN-3 3.2-17x44mm

Thanks man, there is some benefit to being in the ugly delta sometimes. This is actually a friends range, i have plenty of land like it just haven't setup a bench and his is very close to my house. There is one downfall to this range, it was slightly wet today from the rain which is good. Because when it's dry that place is like being on a beach. I went out there with a friend in 20mph wind one day when it was try, you can feel grit of sand in my scope turrets, actions, ARs, everything. All over my lens too. None the less always fun ringing steel. Just kinda want to go further.

Blackops_2, thats a beautiful rifle, and apparantly you shoot it well.:)

I wish I had a longer range than I do, maybe one day, but not Today.
My dream is to shoot both my .270 win, and my 7mm rem mag at 400yds and hit a balloon, or water jug, or pumpkin or something explosive like that.

Thanks man. Whenever you do get to shoot out to 400yds and want to explode something there is a reactive target you can get at sportsmans warehouse, cabelas, or bass pro (i forget the name). Little expensive but if you really want to blow something up they're a blast to shoot. Friend and I shot one out to 300yds and it was quite fun.

Every powder varies lot to lot.

That is why when you switch lots you are supposed to reduce and work back up.

When benchresters find a lot number they like, they buy as much as they can of the same lot number.

I do that with Hunting bullets as well. I'll buy 10 boxes so once I've sighted a round in it will work for a very long time. They don't last forever, but they reduce the sighting in work load. Nice shooting BlackOps. From the looks of it you could have gone 2,000 yards if you'd wanted, darn flat country you're in there.

Thanks man. Yeah the delta has it's benefits. I need to setup a range similar to this one. I have places. I just don't want to leave a 200$ AR500 plate out there for some to steel as scrap metal. His place that i'm shooting at above is literally just right outside the city limits and noone is back there except decent people. Where as most of my farm land you have a hard time keeping a radiator or battery in a motor because people will steal it for scrap metal.
