With the Pro Shooters Bag (PS-1014), you don't have to dump everything just to find what you need. It has a roomy accessory pocket on front, a flat slip pocket and flat zippered pocket on the rear along with a large main compartment for housing the five compartment removable Pro Shooter Insert (PSI). The PSI has handles for carrying it separately from the main bag and the two zippered side pockets house removable Padded Weapon Pouches (PWP).

Pocket sizes are as follows:
Main compartment: 17.5"W x 10.5"H x 7"D = 1286.25 cubic inches.
Accessory pocket: 16"W x 9"H x 2"D = 288 cubic inches.
Flat slip pocket: 7"W x 7"H.
Flat zippered pocket: 7"W x 8"H.
Pro Shooter Insert: 17.5"W x 7"H x 7.5"D = 918.75 cubic inches.
Padded Weapon Pouch: 15"W x 7"H

Color: Black is standard. Other colors available upon special request for an additional charge.

Dimensions: See description

Jeff,
Range bags are like opinions, everybody has one and some are better than others. But you have to choose the one you like. Do a Yahoo/Google search on the internet for "range bags" or search the archive here for tons of info. My personal choice for taking one pistol to the range is the I-Shot Mini Deluxe. See I-Shot website posted above for more info or select one of the myriad other products on the market. Bet you can't stop at just one.

Good shooting and be safe.

ps: Something is wrong. I can no longer attach Smilies, use Bold, etc. ???? Problem corrected. :)

I agree they are a personal choice. It’s obvious from my previous post I really like Eagle bags.

What’s more important, no matter which bag you choose, you must buy American Flag patches and have one sewn on each of your bags.

It was machine sewn; I took it to our dry-cleaners who also do alterations. The lady looked it over first to make sure their machine would work on the material. They charged $3 or $4. It looks better in person than in the pic.

Waller, recommended w/o reservation. Mine is well over a decade old, has been used and abused on two hemispheres and has absolutely no damage showing to it or it's contents. The price is high, the quality higher.

I've used a lot of Eagle products, except their range bags, but I would guess that they are the same high quality too.

FWIW, I frequently use tool bags from bucket boss and Duluth trading as range bags, especially when I'm trying to be stealthy and sneaky. They work just as well as the purpose built stuff. I havent decided if they are more likely or less likely to attract thieves.

The flags are a nice touch, but I'd be somewhat circumspect if I expected to travel at all internationally. I'd also avoid anything that looked military or worse yet, "tactical". I got my Waller in green long ago thinking that it would be less obvious than black; it was then, it isnt now.

I think the best range bags are whatever bags that does it's job for your visit to the range and that can be different for each shooter.

I used a large video camera case for a very long time and now am using an inexpensive Allen brand case I bought from Wal-Mart. I think it was maybe like $25

Though some more expensive cases are nice and maybe more durable, if you plan to throw your bag around on the ground alot, and a couple more features, none of the more expensive range bags have anything extra that I personally need in a range bag to say I want to spend $50-$200 on.

I can definitely appreciate being frugal; there is NOTHING cheap about Eagle or Waller.

The nice thing with tool bags is they usually have plenty of pockets and are not too much money. You would need to just to get a small padded case to put your guns in.

I own a Dillon...it is awesome...

Whats even more awesome is that I bought it at a garage sale for $5

I like I-Shot!!:D As an earlier post said everyone has an opinion.......it's whatever works for you.
I really like the American Flag idea -- thanks for sharing.

I just bought a "designated" range bag and am beginning to think that a general gym bag that is equipped with a few extra side pockets may have been better suited to me. The only thing that I can see the typical range bag has is the little padded side pockets for your pistol(s) of choice.

A gym bag is:

A. cheaper
B. bigger
C. not signaling everyone that you have guns in the bag.

This thread is a good one. I've been using an inexpensive backpack that I had bought at Wal-Mart (originally for taking necessities along on a survey for work). I started using it a few months ago as my range bag when it was just one XD-9 subbie (in the case), a pair of muffs, shooting glasses, and a box or two of ammo. But now, that my "family" has grown to another XD-9 subbie and another pair of muffs, and more ammo, I need something larger. It all doesn't fit now in that backpack.

Everyone has good suggestions here. Now my only dilemma is WHICH option to get.

I use a canvas tool bag from Home Depot

McGuire-Nicholas brand. Great bag, divided compartments, lots of room. I usually carry 3 pistols (6" 629, 5" 1911. CZ-75 Compact), 150 rds 44, 300 rds 45, 200 rds 9mm, 2 sets of muffs, targets, tools, and anything else I can use. The bag is sturdy enough that this load doesn't even faze it. It also has lots of side pockets, and cost $20!

As an added bonus, it doesn't look like a range bag.

I need something larger. It all doesn't fit now in that backpack.
I know it’s a little overkill, but I like to have one bag per caliber. That’s why, for the moment, I have two of those Eagle bags, one for .45ACP and one for .357. Soon I’ll get one for .44 and another for .45 Colt.

1) I don't like to advertise.

2) I'm a real cheapskate.

So, here's another vote for tool bags.

Every time Sears $20 tool bags go on sale for $10, I buy one or two.

Got 6 now -- total investment $60 + tax.

Some have 21 pockets, some 11, some in between. Some have padded shoulder strap, some don't,

All have re-inforced bottoms to carry heavy tools, comfortable double-handles.

They work great and nosy neighbors have no clue. Work to carry cameras and other stuff, too.

(Even tools {grin})

I bought a smallish hoppes bag from walmart for 24.99 a few years ago. I think its made by allen. has enough room for 2 guns and accessories. Padded pouches that fit into inside side pockets. Is really a great little cheap bag. It has become to small for my needs so I made it the dog park bag to carry water, treats toys and poop bags and ordered one of the clearance I-shot pro shooters bags for 29.99. Apparantly it has some silly embroidery but thats easily removed. I have heard nothing but great things about i-shot, so I decided to givem a try. Hey for $30, what ya got to lose?
