Randy Weaver at Gunshow

Yup, Randy Weaver is going to be at the Gun Show in Ottumwa, Iowa this coming weekend.
That'd be April 7, 8, 9.
I understand that he's been invited to other Gun Shows in the Midwest in the past, though I didn't know this.

If any TFL's are from the Midwest, or from Iowa, I would attend this to possibly talk to the man, or hear what he has to say, if anything, and perhaps to get a personally autographed book, "Ruby Ridge".

I intend to go, possibly speak with him, and get a picture. Yeah, I know, the ATF agent in house will make note of this, who cares?

Best Regards,
Don

During the Freeman stand off in Jordon , MT one day Randy Weaver was hanging out at a bar in Jordan called the "Hell Creak Bar". Only one in town.

Everyone was there, the FBI , the media and the locals. At night the place was packed. Everyone one was getting drunk. The media and the locals and even the feds. No kidding ! I'm going to drop off my car and my gun at the hotel, I'll be right back. Said one agent...

Well one day when Randy was in the bar the fed who shot his wife walks in to the bar. Talk about tence... wow !

Anyway two people died driving there cars during that time due to the effects of two many drink's at the Hell Creak and old country roads..

Just an old memory....

I'm pretty sure Randy Weaver would HATE having a picture taken with me. I bear an uncanny resemblance to Lon Horiuchi, the sniper that murdered his wife.

Scary, huh?

Is this a 'black helicopter' thing or a "hate" thing? Not that I'd want a picture with anyone, I wish that my state issued identity papers didn't even have them (I guess that would be a "black helicopter" thing ;)).

I've met Randy Weaver at sveral gun shows here in the midwest now. He has even been attending some of the (what I call) smaller shows sporting only 300 tables. He is not very personable and frankly seems pissed off most of the time. Although I suppose all things considered he has every right to be.
The thought of having my photo taken with him has never occurred to me.
Joe......if you see him at a show.....well if I were you I wouldn't ask if he wanted to go to lunch together or anything. :D You're right the resemblence is uncanny.

We live in a time in which attitudes and deeds once respected as courageous and honorable are now scorned as being antiquated and subversive.

I wonder why he seems all pissed off???

Probably got some issues he's still dealing with inside his head.

Besides the fact of being considered something of a "sideshow act" at these gun shows and having to deal with the multitudes of wonderful people that ask him one intelligent question after another.... :)

I don't know why he'd appear p!ssed off. He probably feels like the freak at a damn sideshow. All the while the sheep keep milling past, oohhing, and ahhhing about him.

Perhaps it will take a few more performances by Lon to get more sheepls's attention to the fact that Weaver & Co. was never intended to survive the exercise.

Best Regards,
Don

jcoyoung,

Man, you sure look a lot like a roomdog I had while stationed in Germany.
Come to think of it, his last name was Young too. C.W.H. Young was his name. He was from Hawaii.

Best Regards,
Don

Close Donny,
My last name is acutally O'Young, like I'm Irish or something. Believe it or not, I'm not Irish. (The name is Chinese, no really!)

Yup, all of us Asians look the same. :p

My position on Weaver is that he didn't deserve to be murdered for the way he lived. But that doesn't make him my hero or anything.

JC, It's not that all Asians look alike. It's that you, personally, look like all other Asians. :D

A goatee and long hair do wonders to make you stand out a little; piercings and tattoos are good too.

I went to the Show today.
I met Randy Weaver. I also met his baby girl Elisheba. A very sweet young girl.

I have to say, this man was pleasant, quiet spoken, and reserved. Though it is easy to see why he might have been pissed off at other shows. There were a couple of guys taking his picture from a distance, and apparently were afraid they might be "marked" if they were seen talking with, or shaking this mans hand.

FWIW, I still think we've not seen the last of these type of lawless, rogue actions against citizens in this country. Call me what you will, pessimist, doomsayer, or nuts. That's OK, cause I get a feeling I'm not the only one who haunts this site that feels that way.
BTW, it wasn't too bad of a show. Small, but then, so is Ottumwa.

Best Regards,
Don
